DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR SET NEW RECORDS!

DOMOTEX asia/CHINA FLOOR 2008 (DOMOTEX ASIA/CHINAFLOOR) again experienced extraordinary growth to celebrate its 10th anniversary this March (11-13) in Shanghai. With a new series of records broken, DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR welcomed 39,509 trade visitors from 104 countries coming to the show, visiting 1,014 exhibitors from 40 countries covering a display space of 88,000 square meters with diversified floor covering exhibits. Total number of international visitors counted to 5,660. The top 5 visitors¡¯ origin countries and regions are Korea, USA, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

With over 9% more exhibitors and around 11% more visitors compared with previous edition, DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR again established itself as Asia¡¯s top leading international trade fair for floor coverings.

As the biggest exhibiting sector for DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR, parquet & laminate flooring occupied 43,500 square meters, a steady increase of over 11% increase compared with 2007 edition; firmly confirming its position as the largest show for parquet & laminate flooring.

The textile floor covering sector also received positive feedback from the market with 19% of space expansion to 28,400 square meters.

Resilient flooring had again a tremendous rise of 38%. Meanwhile, as a spotlight for DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR, exhibitors specially displaying sports surfaces experienced 62% increase in the sense of exhibiting space compared with its launch in 2006. Flooring Technology section also grew 20% to 11,900 square meters.

In conjunction with the exhibition, various conferences and events were held to further enhance the impact of DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR as a one-stop trading platform in the market.

Several leading associations like China National Forest Product Industry Association and World Carpet and Rug Council chose to hold their annual meetings together with the show. Tailor made seminar programs for international visitor delegation also received a warm welcome from all participants.

The Second Sino-US-Europe Wood Flooring Summit was held during the show. Chinese and international association leaders intensively discussed the hot topics in the parquet and laminated coverings industry. Major international media and representatives from leading corporate players also attended as observers.

Contract + Design Shanghai International Forum was held in conjunction with DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR on the second day of the show. Under the theme of ¡°City People and Environment¡±, international masters and domestic industrial insiders exchanged ideas on hot issues of innovation and energy-saving topics. Over 300 designers and architects attended the forum and this event brought more skilled traders to DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR.

DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR 2009 (March 24-26) will again be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
